REVIEW: FACE FACTORY AURA WATER PEELING 3 IN 1 GALVANIC TECHNOLOGY

Hey peeps, so I've been sharing about a new beauty device that I've purchased from Althea Korea which applies galvanic technology. I had no idea what galvanic was until I came across this device so I googled about it and found it very interesting too. Turns out galvanic technology is very popular in the US as it gives its users glass skin easily. Hence, I made the purchase at once with no second thoughts which I'll never do but this decision was also affected by Althea's sale on the product too. LOL... It was a new arrival item in Althea so it's priced cheaper than usual and I also had a few reward points to spend so I that made me make up my mind so quickly. So, after about a month over, using this galvanic device, do you think I made a rash decision? Well, keep on reading if you wanna know if this actually works as it claims.

WHAT IS GALVANIC TECHNOLOGY?

If you haven't heard about Galvanic technology before, you must have heard about Nu Skin. Nu Skin is one of the biggest companies that promote and sell galvanic facial devices, which is also available in Malaysia. Galvanic is an electric current that is applied to the skin by way of conductive gels. It works on the principle of like charges repelling each other. Galvanic Technology was often used in beauty salons but now technology has created hand-held Galvanic facial machines to be used in the comfort of our own home.

Hand-held galvanic facial machines are not only affordable but effective anti-ageing tools. "Galvanic is an electric current that is applied to the skin by way of conductive gels. It works on the principle of like charges repelling each other," says certified esthetician Jeffrie Ann Hall. When used in combination with specially charged gels, galvanic facial machines may smooth skin, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, clarify skin tone and give sagging skin a lift.

I bought Face Factory's Aura Water Peeling 3-in-1 Galvanic Device about 2 months ago and I could say it was a great purchase. When I saw this selling in @altheakorea I googled about Galvanic Technology and was pretty pleased on what I came to know. So since it was on sale, and the price was really affordable, I gave it a try. There are 3 steps in using this to get the best results which are: 👉Peeling 👉Absorb 👉Lifting Each mode has a different technique to use it. So before you even buy this, make sure you know how to use it as it may be pretty complicated at first. Wait up for my full review on this soon. I sure have a lot to say about this. . #AuraWaterPeeling #GalvanicTechnology #GalvanicFacial #GalvanicDevice #AltheaKorea #Skincare #SkincareDevice

MY REVIEW ON THE AURA WATER 3 IN 1

When I first heard about this I was completely delighted until it came to my doorstep and I finally had the chance to use it, this is when I realized I had no idea how to use it. Following the directions and manual from the device's instruction manual in the box was no use as I had no understanding of Korean. The only thing I could understand was images. So I headed down to Althea's website for reference and thank god it had basic instructions on how each mode should be used too. But somehow it still wasn't enough for me.

Putting current on my face is not an easy decision for me to make as I keep on thinking there might be side effects even though studies prove that it's completely safe. So if I wanted to do this, of course, I wanted to do this correctly so I made sure I was certain with every aspect of its usage. So I managed to understand how each mode should be used but the problem I still have until now is with which product I should use it with.

Face Factory doesn't seem to be a popular brand in Malaysia, so when I googled about it, nothing much came out. I did come across a serum from this brand to be used with the Aura Water Peeling Device, but it's not available in Althea and it's priced in USD in a random e-commerce website, which of course I wouldn't want to risk my money on. So I had to do more research on what types of products should be used for Galvanic Technology and below is what I have concluded:

WHAT IS GALVANIC TECHNOLOGY IN SKINCARE

So here's a conclusion of my previous post with this device:

Absorption Mode = Desincrustation (-)

What it does:
  • An alkaline, skin-softening reaction
  • Dilates follicles
  • Increases blood and lymph circulation
  • Increases sensitivity
  • Softens compacted sebum and keratin within the follicle
  • Attracts negative ions

What the device says it does:
  • Generates (-) ions
  • Effectively deliver nutrition from skincare products
  • Brightens complexions
  • Improve circulation

Suggested products:
  • Forms and concentrations of sodium:
  • Sodium chloride
  • Sodium bicarbonate
  • Sodium carbonate.
As you can see, it does promote similarities in effects but in different words of focus. My main concern has been the product it should be used with. I haven't deeply researched about the suggested concentrations but currently, I have been using this mode with this essence below:

Name: Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence
Brand: Cosrx
Price: RM55
Purchase:
Ingredients:
Hippophae Rhamnoides Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin,1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Ethyl Hexanediol

I bought this essence to complete my 10-Steps Korean skincare routine, so I bought this way before I even bought this device. I just happened to pull out a product from my skincare routine which seems possible to be used with this mode and this seems the best. As highlighted in yellow, you can see that this essence also has a mixture of Sodium.

And honestly, this kinda works with this mode as well, since this product seems to be acidic, with absorption mode producing (-) ions which are alkaline, it maintains balance to the skin pH. This essence is also watery, so it absorbs well too. Usually, we'll pat essence in our skin using our hands, but with the device, it absorbs into the skin much faster which avoids the hassle of having sticky fingers.

Firming Mode = Iontophoresis (+)

What it does:

  • Acid reaction to balance skin pH
  • Tightens and firms tissues
  • Constricts the follicles
  • Decreases blood flow and sensitivity
  • Reduces edema
  • Attracts positive ions

What the device says it does:

  • Generates (+) ions
  • Improves elasticity
  • Revitalize complexion
  • Firm up the skin
  • Minimize skin
  • Prevent skin sagging

Products Suggested

  • Serums to masques and even moisturizers
  • Have an acid pH
  • Water-soluble
  • Hydroxy acid-based liquid exfoliants

This mode also promises the same as what it says, and I didn't have many problems finding a good product to use with this mode. I have this focused to be used with my moisturizers and I've used it with quite a number too. Here are 2 of the moisturizers I've used it with:

Name: Safe Me Relief Moisture Cream
Brand: Make P:rem
Price: RM68
Purchase:
Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Squalane, Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate, Pentylene Glycol, Rubus Arcticus Callus Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Oil, Salvia Officinalis Oil, Carbomer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Tromethamine, Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate

Name: Miracle Age Repair Cream
Brand: Thank You Farmer
Price: RM169
Purchase:
Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Cyclomethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Triethylhexanoin, Hydrogenated Polydecene, 1,2-hexanediol, Hydrogenated Poly (c6-14 Olefin), Niacinamide, Cetearyl Glucoside, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Dioscorea Japonica Root Extract, Phellinus Linteus Extract, Arctium Lappa Root Extract, Piper Methysticum Leaf/root/stem Extract, Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Pueraria Thunbergiana Root Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (licorice) Root Extract, Paeonia Lactiflora Root Extract, Cnidium Officinale Root Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Soluble Collagen, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, C12-16 Alcohols, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Peg-100 Stearate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Squalane, Palmitic Acid, Betaine, Bisabolol, Polysorbate 60, Cellulose Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polyquaternium-51, Glycosyl Trehalose, Adenosine, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Raffinose, Disodium Edta, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Lecithin, Butylene Glycol, Sucrose Distearate, Panthenol, Ceramide 3, Xanthan Gum, Caramel, Folic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Cholesterol, Acacia Senegal Gum, Tromethamine, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Fragrance

So ok, I think I may still be confused with the acid and pH parts, which I'm having a bit of a hard time to understand. I thought the ions should be different to balance pH levels, so if someone understands this please help me and others reading clarify this.
Anyhow, I haven't had any problems using either of these products with this mode. In fact, it helps to absorb the product better, which you can actually see and feel the product sink in your skin with the device usage.

Remembered I shared that I bought Face Factory's Aura Water Peeling 3-in-1 Galvanic Device? Well here's a demo of me using it before I blast a full review on my blog. When I saw this selling in @altheakorea I googled about Galvanic Technology and was pretty pleased on what I came to know. So since it was on sale, and the price was really affordable, I gave it a try. Been using this for over a month now and I could say I'm addicted. There are 3 steps in using this to get the best results but I only managed to show 2 of them in this vid. (Silly me didn't record the last part). The steps this device provides is: 👉Peeling 👉Absorb 👉Lifting Each mode has a different technique to use it. So before you even buy this, make sure you know how to use it as it may be pretty complicated at first. OVERALL THOUGHTS

So I could say I've hooked actually, this device is actually quite pleasing to use and I definitely love the exfoliation mode which could scrap out all those gunk that's stubborn on my nose area. It's very satisfying every time I do that and I haven't had a zit on the head of my nose ever since. If not that'll be the certain spot for a big zit to appear but now my nose feels great and clean.

The other 2 modes I'll use on a daily basis, which I choose to do firming mode twice a day and absorption mode once a day. I don't really follow the suggested time of usage unless I have time as I'm always in a hurry most of the time. Have a 10-Step Korean Skincare routine has already taken much of my time which I try my best to complete every day. There are a few days I can't help and skip it due to son factors mostly. LOL...

Anyhow, I feel that as long as the device manages to sink in the product, which you can actually see and feel, it's good enough for me. So I could proceed to my next step. What is disturbingly annoying is the high pitch sound it produces. The sound was shocking to hear especially for the first time which actually worried me to use it. I always try to keep it away from my ears as I worry it may affect my ears but it seems fine, after a while, I just got used to it.

This device operates by charged batteries and I completely am shocked on how long it manages to last after charged. For my type of usage, it could last a week and I only charge it for about 10 minutes each time the batteries run out. When the battery dies, it shows a red light and blinks while charging until full, which later turns static green until the charger is turned off. I just charge it while my android cable which I feel much easier since we have that kind of port everywhere. There are no signals that the device is low on batteries, it runs on high waves each usage. So when it's out of battery, it just instantly dies, so you'll have to have a schedules time for you to charge and mine is every Monday morning.

Overall, this device is worth the buy if you are disciplined in your skincare routine. It takes an awful whole lot of time and determination to use this but the results are amazing. I feel and see the difference to my skin too and it does help to reduce dullness to the skin. I could say this is a very cheaper option compared to having it done at a beauty salon which is normally done or even purchasing a more popular device like this. But somehow, I feel that the results won't compare to the more expensive treatments and devices offered in the market as I can't seem to be fully satisfied with my skin condition. Probably I'm still using it wrong, but that's the best understanding I could interpret with this device.

Till then peeps!
