WHAT KOREAN 10-STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE DID TO MY SKIN AFTER 2 MONTHS

Korean Beauty is known all over the world and its beauty industry is probably the biggest in the world as we see more K-Beauty brands making its way in our market almost every day. Koreans also invented popular beauty regimes that have exploded in the beauty community and one of them is their 10-Step Skincare routine for chock-chock skin. This regime was what most skincare addicts were talking about years ago and it's still popular until now. I've known about this while I was working in Althea as the Editorial Team was preparing a post about this, and it was a hit with so many shares. Even though I knew about it back then, I wasn't really interested to try it out until now. Thank's to my severe breakouts, I finally gave in to try a new routine. Now it has been over 2 months since I did the 10-Step regime daily so let me share what happened to my face.

Honestly, I've been eager to write this post ever since I've started my recovery journey. That's why I documented my skin's progress from time to time so I could write about it precisely. I also did simple sharings on my IG account @cikcit.beautyaddict so I could always refer back and for my followers to see my progress too. Recently, I've managed to blog about my one week trial with this 10-Step routine, which you all could read below:

It wasn't really a complete post as I didn't mention my overall routine but I'll do so in this post. Here's a rough list of what 10-Step Korean Skincare Regime looks like. You may find different changes in other lists you find in google but this is mine. Yes, it's a lot of work but once you put your mind to it, you'll somehow discover you want to explore more.

1. OIL CLEANSER
2. FOAM CLEANSER
4. TONER
5. ESSENCE
6. SERUM /AMPOULES /BOOSTERS
7. MASKS
8. EYE CREAM
9. MOISTURIZER
10. SPF/SLEEPING PACK

I didn't have much to start with, so I just used what I had but did a little bit of study on the ingredients I put on my face and how it'll react to my skin type which is 'oily combination' and also with invasions of acne at that time. So from there, I came to understand that acne forms because of clogged pores and impurities. Oh yeah.. hydration plays an important role too. So I tried to mix and match certain types of products to compliment my skin. You'll know if you've read the previous blog post that I shared earlier.

Anyhow, I came to be obsessed with skincare once I saw results after a week, from there I started to try new products and also added them in my routine. So below, I'll probably share a few additional products than my last post.

So here it is:

1. OIL CLEANSER
Before this, I used Fresh Herb Origin Cleansing Oil, but I wasn't quite satisfied with it, so I tried out Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil since I loved Klairs Foam Cleanser. However, I only use this for my night routine or after I have put on makeup.

Tried to have a go for Klairs Gentle Black Cleansing Oil as I've been into double cleansing lately. I was looking for an oil cleanser that wasn't too harsh and found out this one has no artificial colouring, alcohol, paraben and also artifical fragrances. Pricewise, it may be a bit pricey for a cleanser but I'ved used a couple of Klairs products before and not a single one failed me. So I didn't have much doubts in this product. The key ingredients for this cleanser is Black Seseme Seed Oil which is rich in nutrients to stregthen skin. It also contains Black Current Extract to prevent premature aging as its rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. Black Bean Extract is also included to help nourish the skin and it also contains Shea Butter which may be a highly comedogenic ingredients but its packed with a whole lot of beneficial properties. Besides, I've learned that oil cleansers are all comedogenic, but its okay as it helps remove stubborn gunk way deep in the skin. Since I'm double cleansing, I don'y worry much on blocked pores. Anyways, been using this almost a month now and I could say, I do prefer this oil cleanser better than any oil cleansers that I have tried before. It has a nice light scents, and cleans throughly. It doesn't really do a good job clearing makeup though, but thinking about the list of ingredients it uses, this surely is the safest. Besides, I usually use this in my AM routine to clear out oil after a nights sleep. Once combined with water it turns chalky and gets a bit hard to wash off. But since I double cleanse, I don'y worry so much as I'll have a clean and refreshed face afterwards. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Isopropyl Myristate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Polysorbate 20, Fragrance, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Carapa Guaianensis Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil

2. FOAM CLEANSER
I'm not exactly using foam cleansers but more to cream cleansers. Each cleanser is picked for a purpose. The previous post I shared that I used Make P:Rem  Safe Me Relief Moisture Cleansing Foam. Well, I'm still using it now but only at night. For my morning routine, I'll go for Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser as I find it to be very soothing after oil cleansing.

One of the best ingrediants I read to clear up break outs is Salicylic Acid. I at first was thinking to repurchase @PaulasChioce Syalicylic Acid that I've used before. My skin was great during those times, but then I thought I'm already using way to much acid in my new skin regime, so I opted for a lighter option. So when I found out about COSRX Salicylic Acid cleanser, I thought this might be a good option since its in a cleanser form. Seeing the list of ingrediants, its mixed with other soothing properties so I was willing to give it a try. I use this in my AM routine just after my oil cleanser. This cleanser helps to remove the excess oil away and give a nice fresh feeling to the skin. The only problem, I kinda feel it to be a bit drying. Whats good about this cleanser is that Salicylic Acid also helps to remove blackheads and whitheads, and currently I'm using a beauty device that helps get rid of that too. I use that just after I cleanse my face with this and it easily clears out the gunk. I'll share about this device soon. Anyhow, I'm still having mixed feeling if I should repurchase this, I hate that it feels a bit dry but I love how it clears out blackheads and whitehead. It also tends to be foamy and washes out well too. Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Myristic Acid, Stearic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Lauric Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glycol Distearate, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Salicylic Acid, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance, Sodium Chloride, Melaleuca Alternigolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Saccharomyces Ferment, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Citric Acid, Disodium Edta

3. EXFOLIATE
This got me confused at first because I wasn't sure what this was, but after doing a bit of reading then I understood. I didn't really go into much research on this as I found that I'm already using quite a number of exfoliating products in my daily routine, so I don't need a product specifically for it. But still, I happen to still happen to exfoliate once a week, usually during the day just before I do my masking.

Pixi products never seem to fail me. These are my go to masks selections every week. Here's a short review on my thoughts on them: ▫️ DetoxiEYE Depuffing Eye Patches Hydrogel eye patches are always the best companion while working. I used to have this all the time on my workstation. But now I enjoy this while doing house chores. Its quite thick so it doesn't dry out fast. Could last about an hour without even realising it. . ▫️ T-Zone Peel-Off Mask Pore Purifier I could say I love this the most out of all. With its glittery green slimey texture, it gives a wonderful slab of sensation on the T-Zone area. Be prepared for a green face though, but that doesn't matter as long as it works. Around 15 minutes it dries up and ready to peel. That's when the magic begins, you'll easily peel of all those horrible gunk on your T-Zone with ease. Ohh yaa.. my husband loves this too. 😛 . ▫️ Glow Mud Mask Deep Purifying Mask Recomended to be used PM hours but I have no time those hours so I use it in the middle of the day. Like most clay masks, its dries and flakes to be washed away. The aftermath results in a refreshed face without stripping the skin harsh. . ▫️ Peel & Polish Resurfacing Concetrate This peel mask is textured just like a scrub, so instead of peeling, after a 5 minute application just simple wash it away. Its more like an exfoliating mask, where you rub the dead cells away. Love using this just before I add on another type of mask. . #PixiBeauty #SkinTreats #PixiMasks . #CikcitsSkincares #CikcitsMasks

4. TONER
So in my previous post, I shared that I used Pixi's Glow Tonic which is very famous to cure acne treatment. But now after I recovered gaining acne and only left its scars, I started to use it about 3 times a week now, depending on my skin condition. Pssttt... also because I'm running low of stock. LOL... If I see a zit about to pop out, I'll be choosing to use that. If my skin is clear, I started to use Axis-Y Daily Purifying Treatment Toner which is rich in Centella Asiatica and Tea Tree, properties to help clear acne scars. After that, I'll always add on Hada Labo's Premium Whitening Lotion.

This toner was suggested by @marshearmy. I wasn't that keen at first but after trying this out, this works magically! It's my first product from Axis-Y and I think they don't have much products too. Probably they focus on skincare that actually works. This is currrently my daily toner. . This exfoliating toner promises to clear out bacteria and pollution stuck deep in pores that causes inflammation and acne. It helps soothes inflammation and redness which leaves the skin clear, calm, and ready for treatment. . It contains amazing ingrediants such as Centella Asiatica Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Tea Tree Extract and a few more. It also contais a low percent of salicylic acid (0.5%) which makes sebum control and deep-cleaning irritation free. . As it slowly and gently fades away stubborn acne marks, I feel it still manages to keep the skin hydrated even when it dries out acne. You should totally give this a try if you're fighting out acne too. It sure does it's job. . #axisytoner #axisydailypurifyingtreatmenttoner #dailytoner . #cikcitsskincarejournal #cikcitsskincares

Here's a close up pf my bare skin now. It's not yet perfect but it improved so much since my last breakout. I completely changed my skincare routine and I discovered a gem at the perfect time. . After doing a bit of study, I'm so glad I decided to add Tranexamic acid in my new skincare routine as this acid not only help brightens the skin tone but it helps to recover inflamation as well! . @hadalabomalaysia offers Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion which not only consist of Tranexamic acid but Hyaluronic acid and Nano Hyaluronic acid too. Which means this lotions gives deep moisturization that could prevent breakouts from happening again. . I tried this lotion over a week now, used it twice a day just after a clean face and before adding on other serums. The result is just satisfying, I noticed I'm a tone brighter and my skin looks healthier even though my acne scars may need a lil more time to recover. . I could say, this product is a 'Must-Have'. 5. ESSENCE
I haven't changed to any new essence yet because I feel this is good enough already. I'm already using so many products, I'll probably just keep on using Hyaluronic Acid.

I was looking for an Essence to complete my skincare regime and I came across COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Power Essence. What came to my mind first is I have always heard a lot of positive feedbacks from COSRX products but never even tried one. So I so happen to get this because of the brand and a bit of research of how Hyaluronic Acid helps with acne. . Hyaluronic Acid is a famous skincare ingrediant which most brands have it in their products now. Besides its fame to provide ample hydration to the skin, it also helps treat acne and combats acne scars, which made me instantly eager to have this ingrediant in part of my regime. I was looking for something that consist a higher percentage of hyaluronic acid but I forgot to check the list of ingrediants. . Turns out for this product, its formulated with hyaluronic acid and a mixture of other ingrediants which one of them are Hippophae Rhamnoides Water which is also known as Sea Buckthorn Berry. It's actually not a bad ingrediant as it contains properties almost similar to hyaluronic acid as well and promises similar results too. . I use this in my day routine just after toning, which instantly gives my skin a boost of hydration. Love it! I haven't had any problems using it too. . 6. SERUM /AMPOULES /BOOSTERS
This is where it gets a bit tricky, serums, ampoules, and boosters are almost the same things but they do function differently. Serums are mostly a mixture of boosters, while ampoules are usually focused on 1 ingredient. I had a hard time differentiating but I somehow managed to adjust these in my routine.

MY CHOICE OF BOOSTER

Name: Immortelle Reset Serum
Brand: Loccitane
Price: RM248
Purchase: loccitane.com
Ingredients:
Aqua/water - propanediol - glycerin - isononyl isononanoate - butylene glycol - pentylene glycol - dextrin palmitate / ethylhexanoate - limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil - helichrysum italicum flower oil - origanum majorana leaf extract - acmella oleracea extract - helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil - adenosine - phenoxyethanol - carbomer - maltodextrin - sodium hydroxide - palmitic acid - disodium edta - cellulose gum - amodimethicone - tocopherol - parfum/fragrance - ci 75130 / beta-carotene

MY CHOICE OF VITAMIN C SERUM

When I first changed my skincare regime, I wanted to add in Vitamin C as I haven't used one for the longest time. I came across Some By Mi Galactomyces Pure Vitamin C Glow Serum and what sparked me to take in curiosity was believe it or not, its ambassador. LOL... I still can't get over Sung Jae! Of course, I had to do a bit of study on Galactomyces and it turned me off when I knew it was fungus. Nope... ain't putting that on my face. But as I read on, it managed to open up my mind. Turns out, Glactomyces contains amazing properties which was almost pretty much the same as Vitamin C provides, but it also helps in sebum control and decreasing acne. Anyhow, I came to know that the amount of Vitamin C in this product is only 3% while 75% consist of Galactomyces. What?!! And it's called Vitamin C. Should be called an essense. But I chose this anyway because I remember how hard it is to maintain Vitamin C as it easily oxidizes. Plus, more potent Vitamin C could probably cause my acne to worsen. So I took the risk to try this one and now its been over 2 months. I've tried this on and off to see how my skin actually reactes to it. I used it once in my AM routine which was a big mistake, then I only used it during the PM. Also tried 2 weeks without it and my skin didn't seem to see much changes without it. Probably I've been trying out too much acids. I love that its very light weight and absorbs quickly in the skin without leaving a tacky stick behind, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna repurchase this. . MY CHOICE OF AMPOULE

Chose to give this a try as it was on sale at @altheakorea. At first I wasn't that keen as I'm not familiar with the brand. But this product kept popping up my timeline, so it tempted me to read its reviews. Almost all of them rated this 5 stars. So it triggered me to do a bit of research on Centella Asiatica and guess what?.. a few minutes later, I was totally sold! Centella Asiatica a.k.a Cica a.k.a Tiger Grass is know to be rich in anti-oxidants and helps to soothe redness and inflamation. Which means its good to help recover acne. There are many more of its benefits but I got sold because of this. After looking at the ingredriants, this ampoule consist of 100% Centella Extract ONLY. No need to think more, I instantly made my purchase. It has been one month over since I've started to use this ampoule and I could visibly see my acne scars clearing up. I use this in my AM routine rotatingly and sometimes in my PM routine when I feel I want to. I feel like this ampoule is perfect for those with oily skin as it abosrbs quickly in the skin and its light too. It comes in quite a huge bottle so it makes it worth for the amount paid. My thoughts on this are the same for those who rated this 5 stars. Its a good product and I obviously see results even though it does take a while to have the acne scars cleared. Because of this, I've been obssesed with Cica products and been hunting down for more. Saw that Skin1004 actually does have a few other products based from Cica, so I'm aiming to give those a try too. MY CHOICE OF AMPOULE

Been loving this Artichoke Intensive Skin Barrier Ampoule from Axis-Y since day 1! It's a super rich ampoule that delivers anti-oxidants, nutrients, and hydration that heals damaged, irritated skin barriers. It's also able to defend against bacteria and pollutants to prevents future breakouts and irritation. No wonder it sounds all good, with Artichoke as its main ingrediant, it helps skin retain moisture and build up cell wall density and shrink pores. Also nourishes skin from the inside. Not forgetting, reduces the damage caused by UV rays. It also contains 110,000 ppm of Cetella Asiatica which I've been sharing a lot lately because of its properties. Results after 2 month using this rotatingly, are good. I honestly am looking forward to try out more Axis-Y products from now on. . #AxisY #axisyartichokeintensiveskinbarrierampoule . #CikcitsSkinCareJournal #CikcitsSkincares

7. MASKS
Masking has been a part of me ever since I was working, we started with masking Monday until we somehow put on a mask every day. I still do that because I feel and noticed that my skin improves a lot if I mask every day. I own a lot of face mask, some which are sponsored for reviews and some that I buy and stock up. I love buying face masks, because I know I'll always wear them. The main place that I have been stocking up my masks for years already is from ALTHEA KOREA. They have the best deals when it comes to masks, and I only hunt for deals. I don't use only 1 certain type of mask, so I can't really list it all down here. It'll just take forever. But if you're curious in what masks do I use. Follow my Beauty Instagram @cikcit.beautyaddict.
So how do I use my masks then? I usually wear masks in the afternoon where the sun it high up and when we're indoors we tend to get sleepy. When I was working I used that as a waking up method, and I'm still doing that too. I love wearing face masks while I'm working on my lappy. It gives a sudden boost of freshness.
Anyhow, there is a trick to fully utilize all you're masks. Use a different type of mask with different types of property each day, depending on your skin condition as well. Let's say your skin is feeling dry, go for hydration, tomorrow go for Vitamin, then the next day go for brightening. That way you'll get a boost for everything. But make sure if you're trying a new mask, and feel any irritation, discard it right away, no matter how expensive it is. It's not for you.

8. EYE CREAM
I just recently added this step about last month. I didn't focus much on eye creams until I saw my close up pictures with heavy eye bags, then only did I feel to get myself one. I just picked out something randomly because I didn't do much study. What I did was read the reviews which were mostly positive, so I gave this a try.

I honestly just picked an eye cream without much thought into it as I have no idea what to look in an eye cream actually. I haven't be wearing any eye creams for years already, but I just started too about 2 weeks ago. I just realised how big my eye bags were and also seeing obvious lines of wrinkles under my eyes, isn't a pleasent sight. Uhhh... I haven't even reached my 30's yet, and I already have to worry about wrinkles. . I chose to use Innisfree's Wrinkle Science Eye Cream because of the brand and also because of the packaging exactly. I prefer products in pumps rather in tubs because of hygenic purposes. Most eye creams are in small tubs, but this was among the ones in a pump and I haven't owned any Innisfree's products for a while now, so I kinda want to own something from this brand. . I read this eye cream's functions which then led to reading peoples reviews about it. All seems good, so I just added it in my cart. . After 2 weeks using it in my AM and PM routine, my eye bags has shrunk a bit but I still have dark circles and wrinkles underneath. Well, it has only been 2 weeks though, I'm gonna finish up this bottle first and see how it goes. Will blog about this once I see obvious results. . Water / Aqua / Eau, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Hydrogenated Castor Oil Isostearate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-60 Glyceryl Isostearate, Cyclomethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polyacrylate-13, Polysilicone-11, Polyethylene, Fragrance / Parfum, Xanthan Gum, Polyisobutene, Stearic Acid, Peg/ppg-20/15 Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Phenyl Methicone, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Oleanolic Acid, Disodium Edta, Ethylhexylglycerin, Polysorbate 60, Polysorbate 20, Lavandula Angustifolia (lavender) Oil, Squalane, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Tocopherol, Algae Extract

9. MOISTURIZER
I'm still using the same moisturizer since I first started because I love this so much. I'll think I'll be getting another bottle of this soon as I'm almost out of it. Anyhow, for my night routine which I used to use sleeping packs, I changed to my previous moisturizer from Thank You Farmer as I feel too bad to waste it and I'm already out from sleeping packs.

A total holy grail! Was introduced to Make:Prem Safe Me Relief Moisture Cream by @marshearmy to help clear my breakouts and this moisturizer definately did its purpose. . After doing a bit of research on its ingrediants, it blew my mind on the properties it offers. With only 12 ingrediants which mostly is based from plants, seems like this is definately the safest moisturizer I have come across. Even it has a low pH5.5 level which could help balance the skin after the usage of different acids. . Some of its key ingrediants are Sqalane, Rubus Arcticus Callus Extract and Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Oil which are all plant based. Which makes this moisturizer contain anti-bacterial properties, help fights acne burns, anti-aging agent and also provide ample hydration that absorbs slowly in the skin. For more info you could check out my highlighted stories on Ingrediants. Full ingrediant list on this product are as below. . Not only did the ingrediants won me off but seeing obvious results makes this one of the best moisturizer I have ever used. The texture of the cream is light and when applied, it gives moisture throughout the day. It absorbs slowly in the skin and the stickness level is just right to create a very nice dewy skin look. It also layers very well with my chemical sunscreen. . Recommended for those still looking for a moisturizer that works, you could try this first. Its doesn't contain very harsh chemicals, making it suitable for all skin types, even for the sensetive skin as well. . . Full ingrediants: Water, Glycerin, Squalane, Polyglyceryl-6 Stearate, Pentylene Glycol, Rubus Arcticus Callus Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Oil, Salvia Officinalis Oil, Carbomer, Cetearyl Alcohol, Tromethamine, Polyglyceryl-6 Behenate . #CikcitsSkinCareJournal #CikcitReviews

Received this from @thankyoufarmer_my a couple of months before its official launch it Malaysia. This was my daily moisturizer before I changed my skincare routine, so now I'm using it occasionally since I still have a bit left. Don't wanna waste a good product. This rich concentrated nourishing cream promises to give vitality and nourishment to restore the appearance of more youthful and ageless skin. Main ingrediants are Argan Tree Kernal Oil, Ceramide, and Sanghwang Mushroom Extract. These ingrediants are said to give skin vitality, provide skin moisture while maintaining its moisture barrier, protects from harmful substances and also helps in wrinkles improvements. The texture is super thick and creamy and you'll feel pleased with it. Don't be surprised as it absorbs quickly into the skin but feels so light once applied! Since I'm out of sleeping mask, been using this as my night moisturizer now. Totally forgot how much I used to love the feel it leaves my skin in the morning. #MiracleAgeRepairCream #ThankYouFarmerMY . #CikcitsSkinCareJournal #CikcitsSkincares

ADDITIONAL CREAM
Since I'm still trying to recover my acne scars, I've also added this in my routine. I came obsessed with Centella based products after I came to know it's goodness. So when I saw this, I quickly added to my cart. I used this at my last step as it's super thick and takes time to absorb too.

Honestly, this is amazing! A lot of reviews stated that this doesn't really work for them but after going through it's ingredients I was determined to try it out. Based from Centella Asiatica this Blemish Cream from Cosrx is aimed to help soothe irritation and reduce blemishes. I've been using this for almost a month now and it indeed it helped calm down irritation at my acne-prone areas. At the same time, it also managed to clear out my acne scars but slightly slow. The results took time and only now I've been able to notice that my acne scars are actually fading day by day. This cream is very thick, so I wear this after I apply my moisturizer in my AM routine. It takes a bit of time to be absorbed in the skin and it leaves a white cast too. Won't look pretty if you don't rub it in throughly. This cream comes in a small bottle but you'll only require a tiny amount for each application since its super thick. I only wish that this came in a pump rather than a small tub. Overall I'm super pleased with its results. Definately recommended. 10. SPF/SLEEPING PACK
In my previous post,  I shared my choices of sunscreens and sleeping packs. Well, I haven't changed my choices yet, but since each choice has different kinds, it's better if I do a different post for all of these as I don't want this post to get so long as it already has.
I'll link both of the posts in these posts once I've done.
One thing to remember is never ever complete your skincare routine with sunscreen. Sunscreen is a big help in blocking UV rays which cause aging and worst, skin cancer. I used to be that girl, but know after I read so much about it, I have never left it out no more.

RESULTS

The picture above is a timeline of my skin condition throughout the 2 months, I started my journey in early May and now it's the middle of July. It's 2 months over and I've managed to clear out my cyst acne problems but I'm still dealing with scars. I hope I could get crystal clear skin after 3 to 4 months using this routine.
As I mentioned earlier, throughout the journey I mixed and matched products according to my preferences. I didn't start with everything from day one, I started with the basics, then added more products while I went by. Skincare could be costly and it's okay to not have everything at once, slowly aim what you want and include it in your regime.
So if you look closely to my progress, you'll see that following the timeline, my skin seems to be clearing but then the next picture shows signs of new acne again. This is because I've been adding new products in my regime so some may have not been suitable for me. But in the last picture, you could see that my skin has progressed a lot.

Here's a close up of my worst part of my face that triggered me to start this new routine. I have suddenly been attacked with cyst acne around February and I kinda left it be until it got really bad around March. It was super duper painful and I wasn't comfortable at all. It also caused me to feel very insecure with myself because I have been blessed with good skin since my younger age. Probably I'm aging and my skin barrier has weakened, so that is why I suddenly had a bad breakout.
Thank goodness I live in the internet era where finding information and solutions are that easy. All you need is a bit of knowledge and you can solve your skin problems in no time. Well, it actually takes kinda a lot of time and patience.

Over these 2 months, I did still get new acne but the normal hormonal ones I usually get. I didn't get anymore cyst acne after I followed this routine. My skin showed major improvements in one week, but what took long was the healing of scars. I'm still haven't fully recovered all the scars yet, but I'm giving it time to heal. Besides, fast results are something to worry about too because that may show signs of too many chemicals which could result in more damage to the skin in later days.

Anyhow, to be honest, maintaining this routine is not easy. It takes a lot of effort, time and also money. I'm struggling myself to maintain this routine because there are times where I don't even have time to put on skincare. You'll understand if you're a mum and a wife, you won't have a fixed schedule because your time depends on your family too. Sometimes, I'll have to take extra efforts in putting on skincare because, with this regime, it may take at least half an hour to complete. There are also days where I get lazy but I still fight it and do it because my goal is to achieve glass skin. I want to be able to go out bare faced and feel confident with myself. Besides, being a mum makes it hard to always apply makeup. Having glass skin should do the trick. Just who doesn't want great skin right?
That's all for now, I'll keep doing updates on my skin condition after this. For updates, stay tuned to my Instagram cikcit.beautyaddict.

Till then peeps!

  13. There's a lot of changes. My skin is weird. When i used 10-step (read as : many) skincare products, it tends to breakout. But only with simple routine cleanser - serum - moisturiser, it is better lol.

  19. Nak baikkan muka perlukan 1001 kesabaran kan. Belum lagi nak tengok produk apa yang bersesuaian dengan kulit. Tak semua produk bagi hasil yang cepat. Macam kita pun haritu lepas operate teruk juga muka. Berminyak. Naik jerawat. Cuma tak tahap jerawat yang terlalu teruk. Slow slow cari balik apa yang sesuai.
